David “Poko” Pokorny is a runner and endurance enthusiast whose love for the Earth is equaled by his passion for helping kids.  Poko is an advocate for charity and a veteran of several Climb for the Kids teams including the 2023 Rim to Rim to Rim Challenge.

Poko spent most of his career as the marketing director for FOX Sports Midwest.  He began combining major endurance challenges with charity advocacy in 2006 when Poko biked from St. Louis to Manitou Springs and raced the Pikes Peak Marathon for Polycystic Kidney Disease.  He created and led fundraising cycling teams for Girls On The Run and the 14er Challenge weekend summiting Massive and Elbert in Colorado. In 2022 Poko was a Keep Climbing Foundation Champion for Girls On The Run St. Louis combing several challenges including biking from San Diego to El Paso and running the Mustang Nepal Trail Race (170km) and Inca Trail Marathon (42km).
